I wish my TiVo was just a little bit smarter. It generally gets the shows it records on its own right. Occasionally something will sneak in that I don't like. For a while it was recording some Fox News talkshows. But that was resolved quickly. Then the 500 Club. Again resolved quickly. I do watch news every morning. Either Morning Joe on MSNBC or just the News Live. So I checked my TiVo today. There were two hours recorded of MSNBC News Live. Watching live news on a time delay isn't fun...

Now excuse me as I cry for the Rockies.

that is all,
robbie

Or is it opposum?
Last night was a rough one at this lil duckie's household.
Lets get some background information here.
Your cast of characters,
* Louis - 3 year old domestic short hair from the humaine society, he is considered to be the "Neurotic one". Very protective over the house.
* Jinx - 5 year old domestic short hair from the humaine society, she is considered to be the "Pyschotic one". AKA Princess Warrior Jinx, she can get cranky if you annoy her too much. Although she looks slow, she can move pretty quick. She doesn’t care about much except when its dinner time, and when you're going to rub her belly.
* Me, age is classified, I am not a domestic short hair, and although my mother has claimed to have to adopted me from the humaine society, I am also not adopted. Scared of spiders and often my own shadow, I am not the one to send when the house is being attacked by big and ugly bugs, spiders, mice, etc. That’s why I have cats.
So I was sitting on the computer at home minding my own business, when louis starts howling. There's a few stray cats in the area that come by and bug him. Jinx doesn't care about them, she'll hiss, but mostly just be annoyed by their presence. Louis on the other hand does not enjoy being pestered by them. Its his home, territory, etc, stay away. I turn the back yard lights on and see an orange tabby there. He keeps howling at it until it goes away. I turn the lights off, and the howling continues. I look out side and see what could easily be described as a 15 pound rat that is the size of Louis. I calmly think "Oh, that’s what he's howling at", I say something else. Loudly say something else. So, what do I do? Call up one of my buddies and ask "what would you call a creature that looks roughly like a 15 pound rat?", then of course I go outside to investigate. The creature has crawled up into the grape vines, and was basically just sitting there. I grabbed my flashlight and took a peak, the rather large rat just kinda stared back at me. Not moving, so of course I go grab a digital camera. I don't have the pictures here, but this is approximately what it looked like:

I'm not certain why I waited so long to get a smart phone. I guess me in my stuborn ways thought that my "dumb phone" was able to do what I needed it to do. And in a way Razr's 1-3, among others, did just fine, but this is just dandy. And for those of you with T-Mobile the price for Total Internet (Hot Spot, and Windows media) dropped to $19.95.

I've really never felt that old at work, most of my co-workers have been within about a year of me, but with a few new folks who are well, young, I feel, well, old. Today I found out that two of the newbes are 19. Oy, I remember those days... six years ago. Sometimes its just the little things, like when the new girl goes "yeah, I'm not sure, I was 13 when that happened". It was just about some musical thing. You know you're in trouble when they were too young to watch MTV when you were out boozing it up when they were in 7th grade.

I have been slacking off here, however in my defence I've been working crazy hours at work, my comfy 39 hour week turned into a 58 hour one last week, and had two 10 hour shifts (and nearly a 11 hour one today!). But weekends rock. I should be back to a more regular posting schedule by the end of next week... i hope.

That is all.
robbie

Or the Razr (V3r) I got in February, or the Razr (V3m) I got in June (V3t). I should really seek professional help. I'm also looking for a new computer. I had second thoughts on buying a Thinkpad after reading the return policy (ie, none), the custom Gateways are kinda pricey, and after using the new Mac Books for an hour I hate the keyboard. Feel free to comment on suggestions for a new computer (14inch display or so, the rest are negotiable)

And onto the weather. It is simply fantastic here again. Upper 80's nice nice nice. Better than what my friends in the Southwest are going thru. Last night I bought a domain name, and am in the process of getting things moved over from the blogger page. Don't worry if you're coming from the blogspot address it will redirect to the new one.
So its been a while. I guess I had come to a cross road where there were two options, one being abandoning this project, or continuting onward. The new thing seems to be instead of blogging, stopping blogging, such as some others around here have.

But here I sit.
A relationship that didn't quite work out, which was a product of a few things, and partly because it seemed as if he fell off the face of the planet. A career that seems to have just re-started after a bit of a slump (no I didn't change jobs, or companies). With a preformance plan that is sitting there with a blinking cursor much like many of these posts have ammounted to. What to do, what to write? And sitting in a coffee shop, with a room full of high schoolers, that are talking about *ahem* adult things. I shall not elaborate, but it is slightly humourous. And they are annoying me to no end with their giggling, snickering, and the rubber bands that are flying past me. And i shit you not, they are talking about Barbies.

And here I still sit.
The only thing that seems to be going are my upcoming travels. End of this month is either to San Diego or Orlando, and next month Miami. Super sweet sweet. I am looking forward to thawing out after this unusually cold week we've had. Trust me winter just sucks when the HIGH temperature is negative four... and the windchill is about negative thirty dropping to almost 40 below. And here I still sit... I'll catch y'all laters. But it is also hard to get into the Christmas mode when its this warm out, all the snow has melted, again, and it feels like it should be the middle of either october or march. So needless to say I have done about zero christmas shopping. Stil time to get your wish lists in! I realised I love target even more now.
So the question was posed to me quite a bit at work yesterday (mostly by people 25 or older) how it felt to be 25. I had to reply honestly like i felt on thursday. It felt a bit like nausea and a headache. (And oddly my knee started to hurt a bit more) Ugh. I did have a very good time with my friends/co-workers, and I swear I didn't drink too much, but I was as hungover as hell. I mean this was one of the worst ones i've had in quite some time. Apparently aging means the inablility to hold one's liqour. I am not ammused.
Nothing humourous really happened. I got drunk, and thats about that. Fortunatly for booze so I don't have to remember getting old. I guess I have only about 25 years before stuff starts breaking.

Okay yesterday started out like any mostly normal day. Woke up, got a hair cut (not part of a normal day), had coffee. On my return trip from the stylist i noticed that the car was turning really really really easily to the left. Got out and inspected the tyre and it was about as flat as they get. Figure no big deal, I'll get showered, and ready for work, and change it. Thing were only to get worse. First, couldn't get the damn jack out of the trunk. It was like locked down. I was not amused. So I finally got the jack out, put it under the car (the nice folks at Volvo put a little arrow where you put the jack, right on the car! How nice, at least one thing is going okay.) Next, I couldn't get the damn lugs off the car. I am standing on the wrench and it ain't budging. I begin to swear. (mind you its about noon and I live near a school... I was swearing loudly, it was recess time). So I get the lugs off (all four of them). Jack the car up. At this time i'm going to be about 10 minutes late for work, pending if everything goes well. It does not. I attempt to get the tyre off the hub. Its not budging. I am pulling pushing. Pushing and Pulling Just nothing. I give up. Call my manager at work and asked him to come by and pick me up. New set of tyres for the car seems to be running about $160 each, plus all the other goodness (stems, disposal, etc). I am not happy, to make things worse the soonest that they'd be able to get them is monday. Its snowing today... a lot. And I still have a flat tyre. Easy fix, get a rental. Oh have I mentioned I'm not 25 yet? Yeah that happens on Wednesday, I'm renting the car thru tuesday (just in case). In the town I live in there are two options to rent cars from. Hertz and Enterprise. I haven't rented from either. Things aren't going to get better any time. I asked nicely if I could have the underage fee waived at Hertz. No way possible. Thats okay, i'll pass. Call Enterprise. $10 a day, can ya waive it? No, but we can cut it in half fo you, and upgrade you. Okay, sounds good. So what happens today? Sixty seven and ein-heif feet of snow. My rental request was for a Chevy Cobalt. They pick me up in a Chrysler PT Cruiser, my upgrade is a Chevy Silverado (it is a massive massive vehicle nearly as long as my house, I'm not even kidding). And on a day like today I was very very happy. Its about 20 degrees, extremely windy, and snowing like all get out.

I am that uncle
Y'all have one. You know that uncle that gets a little too tipsy at family gatherings? Yeah, thats me. Two bottles of wine down the gullet thanksgiving day. Half of one was before we ate. Yeah, I was tipsy. I have a cousin who's got a husband that I just cannot stand. He is capable of complaining about cell phones, gas prices, and can comment about well water. My thoughts on the water supply, is simple. If I turn the faucet on, i expect water to come out. Nothing more. So I flee and drink. Its great. That is All, Robbie

Its turkey day eve. And boy am I not looking forwar to it. Each year I tend to like some of my family a little less. My sister and her husband are okay, as are my parents, one cousin, two aunts and an uncle. There's way more family at these damn get-togethers than I care to admit, and one of my aunts tends to force turkey upon me "What? Are you too good for us to eat tukey?" My reply is simple. I don't like turkey, i'll stick to the ham that my dad makes too.

There's two bottles of reisling in my fridge waiting, and two at my parents, and my cool cousin is bringing two as well... So I should be set, dunno about the rest of the family.

So, onto other things. The guy I like texted me this weekend and we went out for beverages. I thought I had only like 3 beers and one mixer... I was wrong, it was more like 6 beers and 3 mixers. Sometimes I lose track of things... Did I mention I had to work on Sunday? Cuz I did and I was mostly useless until about 2 and we close at 4. It was a lot of fun. Lots of coffee and lots of advil. Still mostly useless.
Anyway. I passed out
On my couch
Alone. Dammit (it was my fault)
But I did text him if he was upto anything and last night we watched a movie.
On my couch.
Things got a little awkward. I wanted to kiss him, however I'm never quite certain of things. Would he freak out, would he be all like "Oh I'm not gay." Yeah... So I need dating advice. HELP!

Okay, all y'alls out there have a good thanksgiving. If (or when) you end up drinking too much (like me) make sure to have a driver. Happy Gobble Gobble Day.

That is all,
Robbie

Well, where has the weeks gone?
So I kinda forgot to post, sorry I was busy.

So there's this guy I like, and in my quest to not screw things up, I screwed things up. I didn't want to come off as being too agressive I think I instead came off as uninterested. Yeah, whoops. There hasn't been a whole lot of communication lately between us. Kinda sucks, a lot. He's cute, not a freak, and is nice in general. Yeah, I can screw things up pretty good without trying. Or trying to not screw things up. Aw crap.

So, Thanksgiving is next week. Am I thrilled? Do I dislike turkey? (Actually yes, my dad makes a ham because I and one of my cousins don't like the bird.) My goal: Get drunk. It seems to work quite well. Three bottles of wine, between myself.

I'm reading a book called "I hope They Serve Beer in Hell" by Tucker Max. Let me get this clear immediately. That guy is a complete prick, and I don't condone anything he does. However, he is a complete riot to read, and I nearly wet myself several times and have laughed hysterically thru-out the book. His web site is www.tuckermax.com its not safe for work, hell its probably not safe for home either, infact, if you're a human, ya might want to consider not viewing it... but it is funny. (He's still a prick)

And lastly, the difference from being cold to being comfortable seems to be one degree. Last year I had the thermostat in the house set to 65, i was pretty much always cold. This year 66, and I just recently turned it to 67. And the whole "cold air" feeling at night is gone. Downside, its a little too warm, so i've been kicking my blanket off only to go searching for it at around 3 am. Yeah, its neat.

That is all,
Robbie

And at time I can get a bit of road rage. But do I attempt to run the culprit off the road? Nope, my car is 1, too small, and 2, i don't feel like putting it into a body shop for a week. So I usually drop the F-Bomb once or seven dozen times, let my adrenaline levels drop and continue on with my life.
However today I was driving southward to Milwaukee I was being tailgated by some guy in an auto dealership truck. Not just sorta tailgated, but so bad that i could barely see the hood of the other vehicle. However when I finally moved back into the right lane (I was passing a couple of slower cars) I noticed that this particular truck was branded with the dealer's name AND telephone number. Did I just notice this? Uh, no I called the dealership and asked for the parts department and complained. Complete with the plate number on it. He may have been tailgating me, but I'm the one who won.

That is all,
robbie

Today is Friday... Let me Explain. I was off for a "weekend" last week and last Friday and worked for five days. So last Friday was Monday and this tuesday is friday. So... Thank Goodness its Friday. I am looking forward to my day off tomorrow.

So, I tend to start my mornings by watching MSNBC catch up on the news before going to work. They seem to be on this kick of "All Politics, All The Time" because aside from the weather there hasn't seemed to be any real news lately. There is a funny commercial where the elephant and a donkey are running down the beach fighting, the best part is the end when the elephant donkey punches the donkey... yeah i'm childish like that, but its funny.

Trick or Treating was yesterday, in my humble town. I may have "accidently" left the lights off. Oops, guess I'll have to eat the bag of 3Muskateer bars... uh oh, where'd it go? Thats right, in my belly.
Ah the joys of day light savings time. I'm not completely sure what time it is, its either 10:45 and I'm late for work, 9:45 and I should be getting ready for work, or a week from last wednesday, and I shouldn't be going to work.
Last night was of course the big party night for Halloween, unfortunatly since I have to work today, no real party for me. However, that didn't stop me from going out and having a good time... until midnight. I went out with my friend Jena and her, um, i dunno, "friend" Adam. Ran into a few of my friends at the bar we went to, and I found out that my old roommate Tim makes an absolutely horrid woman. He was dressed up like a hula girl, complete with water balloon boobs, and a fake ass sticking out. Hey, it worked for him. Straight boys seem to like to dress up as gay boys or girls. Its slighly horrifiying really.
It also appears that there is a good chance that I'll be going on a blind date as set up by two of my friends. I'm sorta scared, especially when I heard "Yeah, I think he's cute".... uhm, err... UH. Y'all will definately be staying in the loop. Anyway.

So I must be off to be late, early, or just on time for work.

That is all,
robbie

Ah, the joys of the mid-term election. Wisconsin is currently in the midst of a big "Gay Marriage" debate... except that voting "NO" to the amendment means keeping things just like they are now. With Gay Marriage Illegal. There's plans for another public open forum in the near future. I have only one question to ask "How will this improve the lives of Wisconsinites?" Wisconsin has always been a progressive forward thinking state, fair compasionate. Lots of farmers, lots of corn, and lots of idiots. The local newspaper has had plenty of letters to the editor, with my favourite quote being (i'm paraphrasing here) "If we don't make marriage between one man and one woman, whats next? A man and three women? A woman and an animal?" Well, bud, lets get this in the air, polagimay is illegal in the United States, and the animal would probably be better in bed than the tired man.
Okay... enought with the legal rambling shyte.

That is all,
robbie

I've begun assembling my christmas list (and birthday list, being a december baby isn't always the best). And I've noticed that its changed from "Hot Wheels Power Race Car" and "Chevrolet Blazer" and "a puppy" to "queen sized flannel sheets" and "tupperware" and "mixing bowls". What have I come to? Although I really do need flannel sheets, tupperware, and mixing bowls. I think I've grown up. And i'm not liking it.

The worst part of Halloween is that it is far too easy to buy massive amounts of candy. I have two large bags of it by me right now *D'OH!* Two weeks from now i'll need to buy new pants, and will have consumed my body weight in candy. And per usual I get screwed over the weekend before AND after at work, having to work both. So much for the Gay Christmas.

I seem to have been sleeping a bit better. Sacking out around 2-2.30. I miss the nights being able to sleep the whole thing.
Apparently not me. I've been sleeping erratically at best. My nighttime routine is pretty straight forward and doesn't vary too much. At 9.30 its all the same (except tuesdays when Law and Order: SVU is on), watch futurama. 10, more futurama. 10:30 is trying to find something to watch for a half hour, 11pm watch Law and Order: SVU again (although USA likes to do things and its not always on so Countdown makes a good sub). 12am quick shower then into bed. Usually, i fall asleep pretty quick. Lately roll about a bit, and hope to be out by 3. Right now no biggie, I was on vacation for the past 6 days. 4 hours isn't usually enough sleep to be functional on. Anyway, if this continues thru the end of the month, i'll definately be seeing the doctor and seeing about some medication.

I went to one of those local greesy spoon taco shops tonight. The place hasn't changed a bit, the tacos taste the same, the burrito was the same. It was fantastic. I felt like a lil kid again. Except I was driving myself, back to my own house, I mean. Its a little more expensive than taco bell, but hell, it was way better. Anyway,

That is all,
robbie
